Are you dreaming up your life?
Please do!

Dreams/Visions are so important. Without imagining a blissful future, how would we ever get there? Dreams are the compass for our soul. If we limit our dreams, we limit our possibilities. Whatever we believe to be possible can become reality. It’s the self-fulfilling-prophesy-thing.
I know that we have had a breakthrough when my clients dare to dream again (whenever that happens, I do a little silent happy-dance). Shortly after, big shifts start to happen in their lives.

How about you? Do you dare to dream, or do you dismiss your dreams point-blank as silly, and unachievable?

Many deemed my dream to become a professional dancer highly unlikely, if not impossible. I didn’t listen. It was this dream that got me to move to The Big Apple to test my resolve to be a dancer. It was this dream that got me up every morning to take dance classes and to attend endless auditions.

Fast forward two years to Canada. I am taking a workshop with the well-known dance company “O Vertigo Danse” and I am in love. I am in love with the acrobatic style dance, the visceral movement, and the dancers who are teaching us. Instantly, my dream receives an update. Now, I want to be a dancer for O Vertigo, no matter what it takes.

During the 2-week workshop, I dance my heart out. My dream drives me to give it my all, to devour every minute of every day, and learn as much as I can.

By the end of the workshop the choreographer Ginette Laurin has seen something in me, and invites me to come to her audition. Thinking back to this moment, I realize that as much as was shocked, I was not surprised. According to my dream, this made total sense.

Three months later, I was chosen to be the new dancer for O Vertigo Dance and toured the world with the company for 7 years.

If you believe that I was exceptionally talented, you are wrong! My chances were not any better than for others. There were plenty of dancers who outranked me with their ability AND experience.

What I did have, was a way to express myself with passion and a DREAM that lived in every fiber of my body, mind and soul. That dream called me forth and opened doors that would have remained closed if I had doubted the dream itself. For me, it was simple: I loved dancing, and so I danced.

I could have listened to those around me who said that I was ignorant to think that I could ever make it. I could have listened to those who told me to choose a sensible job with better chances for success. I am sure you know those who squash our dreams in an attempt to spare us the pain of unfulfilled dreams. I am sure most of them mean well.

What is your big dream? Are you dismissing it as unimportant and ridiculous, or are you going for it without hesitation?

What I wish for YOU, is that you are ridiculously happy in following your dreams (whatever they might be), so that when the time comes, and you say good bye to this life, you won’t have any regrets, no “what-if’s” or “I-should-have’s”. I hope that you will be able to say that you lived your life full-blast and without holding back.
